When to Expect a GOTY Edition with Dawnguard?

Post » Mon Jul 02, 2012 10:39 pm

Just wondering what the average time frame is between original release and a re-release with DLC added on. If anyone has an idea, please let us know. I expect a GOTY edition either very late this year or early next year, would that be about right?

It will almost definitely include Dawnguard as well as at least 1 more DLC package, so I would expect sometime next year.

We probably won't see one for a while. One DLC isn't enough to throw into a GOTY Edition. And besides, this game has quite a bit of work left before it's ready for anything like that.

I think that's a bit early. I'm thinking it will probably be at least 2013-2014 before we get a GotY ed. of Skryim. All of the DLC has to be released first, which probably won't be this year at all. If Fallout 3 is any indication there will be at least one or two new DLC's for Skyrim before Bethesda has finished the game and is ready to release it as a GotY.

I suppose that all makes sense. I guess it was just wishful thinking. I guess a mid-late 2013 as stated is more like it.

Maybe it, and the rest of the game, won't be as much of a bug riddled mess by then.

Well, Bethesda's "complete" edition games are usually worse than the original titles. But, there is little hope that Beth will address most of the bugs before such a release.

By next year most likely. These things are usually more or less putting in the bigger DLC affairs. Even the ones from 2004 are like that. We're lucky some GOTY editions even include the smaller DLC now. Granted, many games can't include much else but small DLC.

Some time next year, once they have dropped all the DLC/Expansions.

I think they annoyed a few console players by releasing Oblivion GOTY without a few house DLC.
