paarthurnax quest, Why?

Post » Mon Jul 02, 2012 5:32 pm

Honestly why do you have to choose to kill Paarthurnax and be hated by the Graybeards or not kill him and be hated by the Blades? As far as I'm aware the blades are there to serve the Dragonborn so shouldn't the Dragonborn have finale say in the matter? due to being on console I can't mod the quest but was always currious as to why we couldn't tell delphine to cool her dragon killing jets for this one here at least. I like both sides this quest always annoys me.

On a side note this is my first post on this forum so please go easy on me :) thanks

I'm with you on this one, bro. I wish there was either a persuade or intimidate speech option to make her back off poor old uncle Paarthurnax, but as it stands it's far too late in the development of the game to go changing something like this.

it's unfortunate because of this one quest its kind of made me lose respect for the Blades they can't forgive a beings past especially one that is helping rid the world of Alduin, maybe they can write something in on the next DLC but it isn't going to kill me if they dont.

First post, huh? Welcome to the forums,http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/dogate_til_fishystick.jpg.

As for Paarthurnax, kill him or not, that's your choice, but IMO, you won't be missing out on too terribly much by letting him live. If having the Blades hate you is all that happens, your in fine shape, they (mostly Delphine) have betrayed everything they're sworn to protect (meaning me) unconditionally. The Blades of today are better left as dead. Let Paarthurnax live, at least the beards don't place conditions on you on whether or not they'll help you.

That's my thaught on the whole matter. They are sworn to protect me unconditionaly meaning if I don't want to kill an ally then they should be like yes Mr. Dragonborn you know what your doing but like I said they are nothing like what they were in Oblivion honerable and that.

Thanks for the Fishy stick

I guess, imo the past is the past Paarthurnax is only trying to help now why kill him? Killing alys isn't going to win you friends.

I just ended the quest in my pc with console commands and now i am friends with both. I can't choose a faction on which i was really deep into in Oblivion or a homicidal dragon that killed millions of people and now is a vegetarian

I got that dilemma too. At start I let Paarthumaxx live, but as a genuine Imperial, I had to listen to the blades. At least I got an ubercool armor reminding me the shiny Blades of Cyrodiil in Oblivion.Oh and a filter by Esbern.
