--------------------------------------------------------

The premise of the mod is to create a new guild of Bandit outlaws. They are all over Skyrim but where do they come from? What's their story?

I hope to answer those questions, er... at least make something up

Lamplight - The Bandit Guild is now in beta. This means that the heart of the story and quests are now going to be created.

To read the story line there will be a special post at the mod web site link above.

Even though the mod is in beta nothing is finalized, including the lighting, buildings or anything else. Anything can change as it is being developed.

The mod starts with a visit to the Southern entrance to the town of Lamplight where a group of bandits are at guard.

The player is informed that they are not welcome and will attack if the player doesn't leave.

As the player walks away he is confronted by "Scurrvy" who gives the player instructions on how to get in to Lamplight.

When the player returns he is once again confronted by the bandits and after a few choice words finds himself on the losing end of a fight and then discover what the first quest for the guild will be.

You can get in to Lamplight after the initial quest (or type "coc lamplight" in the console). If you would like to see most of the characters that will later be in the quests within Lamplight go in to the Tavern. BTW...you can disregard the dragon sitting on the Tavern...he will be in one of the quests later in the game.

Remember, the more input I get from the people using the mod the better I can make it. So please give me your thoughts!

While the bandits greet the player as I intended they sometimes take a while to actually walk up to the player. I am working on finding a solution to this.

When the initial greetings are finished the player finds themselves in a certain place. I left the door unlocked so you can get out and into lamplight. The next version will be 1st quest for the guild.

Too early to know. But unless some other mod is using the same space in Tamriel there should be no problems.

If you have an earlier version of Lamplight please delete the following folders before installing this version.
Hopefully this will be the last change in installation methods.
Before you uninstall please leave the interior of Lamplight Town, if your character is now there, and create a save point.

To uninstall delete the following files from the Date folder:

lamplight.esp
lamplight.bsl
lamplight.bsa

Now that the mod is in beta the quest making and story lines will begin.

Major credit goes to Ingenue who did the scripting and quest building for the intro. Ingenue is a quest maker extraordinaire!

Ingenue was also the voice of Pengae

This is only temporary as there will be a new confrontation with these bandits in the next release of the mod (Beta 3)
So does this mean there is a new confrontation in B3? or there will be in B4?
Sounds good, anyway. We could do with a bandit guild. ("we" being the community)

Thanks!

I'm not sure how I'll be handling the releases.

I've been thinking of maybe going to a WIP schedule so it doesn't look like the mod is in constant beta.

Or I may release it at version 1.0 when the first quest is completed.

Ooopps

I'll have to strike that paragraph out and rewrite it.

What I meant by "confrontation" was more like a continuation of the intro scene of the bandits. You'll have to confront the bandits once more before you're taken in to the town and given the first quest.

As for there being a beta 4 I think I'll just have a new naming convention.

Instead of betas I'll release as version 1.0 with the 1st quest complete. This way I can release new versions with smaller quests without looking like there's dozens of beta releases.

Heh, I thought it might have been a copy/paste. No worries. I thought that was what the "confrontation" would be.
And yeah, once the first quest is done, call it a version 1.0 After that, you've sort of got a bandit guild mod, albeit a short one, and new quests seem like a 1.1, 1.2, etc. rather than being required for the 1.0
(hope that makes at least a little bit of sense)
