I liked the way Oblivion did it. One thing I liked about DG, I do like the look of the new eyes of the vampire though.

That would be annoying. Thats the reason I never stayed a vampire for long on Oblivion.

I think the drastically reduced health and lack of regeneration works better. You wouldn't like it if you came out of an Oblivion Gate in the middle of nowhere at 7AM and on the verge of being overencumbered and you are at Stage 4 Vampirism.

I want my vamp to be ignited after 5 seconds of direct exposure. Not taking Sun damage is less that attractive to me. I mean, you're a Vampire, for crying out loud...

That would be stupid. How annoying would it be if you were in the middle of nowhere and the sun started rising? Besides, no regeneration and lower health makes for a far more balanced vampire.

Ha! What's stupid is playing a Vampire character and getting caught in the middle of nowhere as the sun rises.

If I remember right you only get sun damage on level 4 of vampirism in Oblivion, they can make it like that. But I don't know I don't play vampire much.

That wouldn't be very fair. You'd be stuck in your house until night, and wouldn't be able to come out during the day to do quest, buy/sell things. It just sounds like a terrible concept. It is also part of the lore that Volikar vampires cannot be damaged by the sun, but it can weaken them.

In Oblivion, you took zero Sundamage at Stage 1.

S2 - 1 Hitpoint per second
S3 - 4 HPS
S4 - 8 HPS

That was better than a slight reduction in stats and no regain. Some would argue that we shouldn't even have regain in Skyrim in the first place. Just by wearing a few enchanted items will completely negate those...minor drawbacks.
