Community for Skyrim

Post » Thu Jul 05, 2012 7:31 am

I have always thought of this ever since I realized the way Steam was becoming so prominent, why not integrate the ability to in-game chat with other people who are playing...not necessarily MMO style, but just having a nice chat about the game. You could maintain a friends list and be able to enjoy interacting with other players during gameplay.

I have always felt that one of the biggest draws to a game was the sense of community it can bring, I think this would be a fun addition.

And who knows, maybe it could lead to Co-Op style dungeon and challenge specifc quests where you can team up and bring loot and experience back into your version of skyrim....MMO is not the way to go, but something on smaller scale I think would be fun.

Just my thoughts :)

Why not just use the Steam friendslist and chat?

Yes, it was fun chatting with a few friends on Steam while playing, especially just after Skyrim was released.

Might want to put a tag that says steam, as i have a feeling somebody will bring up psn or xbl's party chat system and say it already has this...

This is a good idea though and i was wondering if it was just people from your steam friends list or anyone on steam that has the game for the ingame community chat?

I believe that M'aiq has already ruled on the issue of co-op: no one will agree how to divide the loot :)

I see now about the chat, which im relieved to find out the options for PC on steam(other than 3rd party systems like skype, etc.). but what I really want to know is what people think about a co-op option for challenges or specific end-game style dungeons , some of the fun aspects of an online RPG without the Massive part.

If you would like to discuss co-op, please use the existing http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1366657-non-mmo-tes-multiplayerco-op-thread/
