No Dragon Soul

Post » Fri Jul 06, 2012 7:44 am

Ehy guys,i wanted to ask something.First of all:it might be my imagination, but i have a feeling that the newest patch produces MUCH more dragon encounters through the world.I have like 12 dragon souls,i am half the main quest, and i have 10 shouts 3 of which full unlocked(yes, the 12 souls are still to be used). But my main point is,3 dragons out of 12 won't give a soul.Aside of being not convenient,it may potentially hurt your game?Just asking. Thanks!

Everybody at some point kills a "soulless" dragon. For me, the percentage is nowhere near 1 in 4, though. Maybe one in 20, if that.

So it's absolutely normal and it doesn't affect the game whatsoever right?

No, no effect, apart from being irritating. Don't worry, you're still the dragonborn.

For me, it tends to happen at dragon lairs where a lizard has respawned (i.e. I killed one and got its soul, the next time killed it but not soul). I don't know if the game just gets confused. I think once you get a more powerful dragon (i.e. go from regular dragon to blood/frost or elder dragons) you might get a soul again. But in the grand scheme of things, you will end up with waaaaay more souls than you have shouts for.

For a while my most recent character had no random dragon attacks. It was getting disconcerting--for the first time ever, I had more words of power than I had shouts to unlock them with. But recently they started appearing again, quite frequently in fact, and I finally fought my first Elder Dragon (after nearly 300 hours of play with three characters).
