Bored of Skyrim?

Post » Sat Jul 07, 2012 1:47 am

Anyone else bored of playing this now? Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing game, but i've done everythang, played 600+ hours, even DG 3 times, and i've become bored of the quests.

Just feel like i'm floating around for DLC now. Just wish my craptop could handle Oblivion/Morrowind mods.

only answers your gonna get are people telling you to...

A. Take a break.
B. Move on to another game.
C. Try another class.
D. Create your own story in your own head and "try" to RP in Skyrim.

I know, but..

A. Raining out, else i wouldn't be on here.
B. Actually waiting for Borderlands 1 GOTY to turn up in the post, still.
C. Already done 5.
D. tried, don't have the dedication.

I want to play Morrowind with the overhaul, that'd keep me going for a decade.

Hmm.. well to be honest Skyrim gets stale pretty fast so I'd move on to another game in my opinion. What game that is, is up to you.

I know that feel. It seems that I spend more time modding the game and browsing on forums than actually playing it.

Funny, I don't remember Morrowind and Oblivion growing old so fast. I can't decide, whether I was younger and therefor loved to game more or Skyrim just isn't as good game.

I got bored for a bit, played another game for a month or so. After that I went back to Skyrim.

Its easy to burn out, but just take the odd break for a few weeks.

Mods probably would change my opinion, but i'm on console. Waiting for Borderlands to arrive in post then that'l be my game, but it's a week late and i'm getting irritable. Damn rain....

I know right? This Skyrim is ruled by some black magic that makes it like just released after a few breaks.

You don't need mods to play Morrowind or Oblivion. I play both with vanilla graphics, and my only mods are small ones such as 'Simple portable tent' or 'Balmora Balconyhouse'.

Everyone experiences a 'burnout' at some point, in any game. Why not watch some TV, read a book, go out to the shops or play another game. No game is going to keep you entertained forever, not even Skyrim!

Laptop can't handle Oblivion in it's lowest res, unfortunately. I waited years for Morrowind Overhaul, i really want to see it, but it can't handle that either.

Problem was, where i was bored i hammered DG too much, and nothing to do now, although i will say it's good, and bigger than most people realise, worth the money.

Jtu covered pretty much everything, I'm sorry there really isn't much else in the game itself. everything else would be external to the game.

I say don't try, at this point it would be akin to forcing yourself, we wouldn't that now would we

This.

I switch in and out of these games all the time. If I just pounded away at one game for six months, I'd never want to go near it again in my life (600 hours? Done the DLC three times in the tiny time it's been out? Wow, now that's a recipe for burnout!)

So yeah. Put Skyrim down. Do something else for a few months. Come back to it fresh later. That's what I do with Oblivion and FO3, and I'm still playing those games years later. (And I still haven't found/done "everything" in them, because I don't try to. It's nice to still have things to find on character six or ten.)

I was lucky because my ps3 broke about a month into having the game. I only got a new copy in june and it was SO fresh. I didn't have any of the old hype left in my head after that long. The game is so much clearer, so much more lucid and crisp now I've not got pre-release anticipations. Now when I find an enchanted sword I'm really happy about it.

I think forgetting about it then getting it can really bring it alive.

Weirdly, i never burned out with Oblivion, and i was single and unemployed back then!

Ho hum, guess i'l browse the nets til my game turns up.

I'm not bored, I haven't been able to play it at all for a couple of weeks as my PC died. I do have it for the PS3 as well but I just can't get into it anymore after I've got used to the PC version.
