70 hours in and I had to give up my mage because of kill cam

Post » Sat Jul 07, 2012 1:20 am

I always found them annoying, but the mage ones are especially bad. Mine are glitchy as hell, and they just plain svck. I had about 70 hours on my mage, updated the latest patch (I was at 1.3 before) and BAM! Terrible.

Bethesda, PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION TO TURN OFF THESE GIMMICKY NUISANCES!

I don't mind them. I just find them funny when I get a kill cam even though I miss. =/

It's a feature meant to help users with certain control schemes use magic :).

A significant proportion of the fanbase would like a toggle for killcams please.
Just like in Fallout.

Please Bethesda, its gotta be a simple thing like setting the conditions for them to occur to zero?

Maybe Im missing something but Id be delighted if we got a toggle.
I started an archer at release just so I would have no killcams, but then updates happened.
I still like playing as an archer, I just hate the being pulled out my monologue intérieur for such a slow-mow third person gimmick.
I want to get on with my game!

I don't mind the killcams but I couldn't agree more that there needs to be an option to toggle them off, along with many other game features that I could list. But the designers seem to have this attitude that we should play with these features whether we want them or not. Or maybe they're just so pleased with themselves they can't stand the thought of someone turning it off.

I think by now we can assume that if someone is complaining about some game feature or another like this then they're not playing on the PC. Everyone knows there's mods for everthing you could think of. So lets assume that this person is playing on a console and therefore can't use mods.

Ice Spear kill cams are always legendary but yes, other spells do get annoying.

I love them in Skyrim, never had a single bug happen while it was going on. But in Fallout New Vegas, those were a nightmare. Just walking along in the waste, and out of no here it takes me to some random raider getting his head blown off by my companion. And sometimes it was SO loud!

Well, there are killcams exclusive to animals that you won't find against a human target.

The near miss forgiveness on ranged kill-cams, of course.

It only annoys me when, and this happens often, your action (in this case, a spell) doesn't actually kill the target.

I find the magic kill cams a bit unneeded. If they actually showed some sort of killmove, they'd be fine, but if you are using fire, you'll just get to watch a guy shoot fire... I'm getting a bit sick of them now since they make my computer have a slight seizure and everything gets all laggy during the things. The archery killcams are the only ones that don't lag on me... And they zoom in on the projectile.

They were fine on the console versions(at least, I liked them on the PS3) but they are quite annoying when you are spending two days figuring out how to get Skyrim to be 70% almost not laggy. Still fun to watch bears seem like their jaws got cut off by a two handed weapon.

In both the PS3 and PC versions of Skyrim, I get kill cam way too often.
