A New Beginning

Starting a new character and want him to be a battlemage. Specing him out with onehanded, heavy armor, smithing, enchanting, restoration, destruction, archery, and last some sneak. Not all perks in each tree will be used. Does this seem like a good build? Can anyone lend tips?

Pretty much any build will work eventually. Only advice would be to work on one handed over archery first, so that you can be a true battlemage with a sword in one hand and a fireball in the other.

Sounds more like a Jack of All Trades to me. Maybe substitute archery/sneak with Alchemy/illusion? Just a thought.

I will prefer changing destruction into conjuration, bounded weapon are strong plus it is good to have a extra hand from summon

Sneak doesn't seem like a suitable skill for a battlemage.

I'm going Heavy Armor/1H & Shield/Conjuration with my battlemage. I prefer the temporary summons myself, so no thralls for me.

I guess in the assassin battlemage whatever that would be considered. Somehow my characters are always combat specialists. My first guy was a devastator. Kill a few guys in sneak then get caught. Then just stood up and murdered everything. Just to challenge him I went against the entire force in solitude and he didn't break a sweat.

Drop restoration, destruction, and sneak.

Pick up alchemy for heals and conjuration for temporary summons. That would fit a battlemage more. You will regret dumping points into destruction as your sword will do far more damage.

If you want to be truly deadly go with alteration and get the paralyze spell in your left hand while your swinging your sword with your right. Alchemy will also give you great poisons and more paralyze, basically nothing will hit you back cause they'll be laying on the ground.

Everything seems fine except sneak. Doesn't seem very "Battlemage-ish".

I'm playing the exact same character right now. I would say I wouldn't worry so much about archery.

My BM uses 1-Hand, Conjuration, Destruction, Heavy Armor, Speech and Archery. Restoration is nice to have too.

Try to focus on one crafting skill if you are looking to keep the game somewhat balanced, also BM wouldnt use sneak or archery. The walk straight into the fray/
