Increase ___ by ___ % for ___ Seconds

Post » Tue Jul 10, 2012 2:06 am

Hello,

My question is about potions that increase crafting skills for a short period of time--say 30 seconds. While you're in the crafting menu does time still tick down?

So in effect, is time paused while I'm using the alchemy lab? If I don't finish my potion within 30 seconds (real time) does the effect go away?

Thanks!

Pretty sure time ticks away while you're mixing potions. It does for enchantments and smithing, I know that.

So yeah, you'll want to hurry.

Time is not paused when you are using alchemy lab. But there is no potion that helps you with alchemy. There is no fortify alchemy potion.

Time is paused when you are shopping. You can often visit two merchants with a single potion of fortify barter (potion of haggling)

Gone were the glory days in oblivion when you could charm a NPC for 1 second and talk to the npc forever as a best pal :D

If you are Enchanting time ticks down unless you are naming the potion, afaik.
One way to give yourself a little extra time is to use the Slow Time shout right before you craft.
Another thing I made sure to do was only learn the enchantments I knew I would use. That way my menu stayed short and simple, and easy to reference, until I had made all of the items I really wanted.
