Sneak isn't quite effective

Post » Wed Jul 11, 2012 12:31 pm

I'm 57 in sneak I have the stealth perk at 3/5 , I have the backstab perk, deadly aim perk, muffled movement perk, light foot perk and the silent roll perk. I am wearing light armor with no enchantments, only an upgrade at the workbench. I get spotted really easily and I get spotted even behind the person or creature. This bug is really bothering me and I get spotted even if I move slowly in sneak, is anyone else experiencing something similar to this?

sneak doesnt mean u are invisible, basically you will get detected if you are in light source or there are torches near by. for more quiet sneaking you can hold walk button and then sneak, if you are an archer assasin you hit them with sneak attack and go back a little every time this way you wont get detected. Also sneaking in daylight is difficult.

SRY for Bad English.

I know that I'm not invisible but even if I'm in the darkest spot I could find I get spotted, even if I'm in a draugr infested temple where they are sleeping I get spotted. btw thanks for trying to help me

To me Sneaking in this game is a bit Quirky and REQUIRES uber levels to really be effective. My characters usually don't do well until close to 90 in sneak, plus gear and muffle(enchant or spell) to help even more. In daylight it seems nothing but invisibility helps, but once inside, ie dungeons, muffle is great as well as pushing(leveling up to max) skills.

A bit lame, but go to Dragon's Reach and visit the Jarl's court, which has good shadows and decent walls and people in there. Find a place that is close to someone, cast invisiblity, muffle and then walk into a wall near them, rinse and repeat as needed to raise levels to max. Once you get higher you can just walk into the wall for a few hours, I end up putting a weight on the forward key and go do something else for a few hours, like sleep.
