So after reading the forums, it seems that many of you have some great ideas for new guilds. Sadly, I don't think Bethesda will have the time or resources to please everyone, but there could be a solution to that: if they add a feature to let us create our very own guilds.
This is how I imagine how it could work:
To start a guild, you would have to buy or find a "guild notebook", which would basically be an empty book. Once you open the book, you would enter the guild-creation process. The process would start with you picking what kind of guild it would be, e.g. normal guild, knight order, collage, bandit clan, and so on. Then you would choose what your guild would do, e.g. mercenary work, divine/daedra worship, assassinations, working (hunting, farming...). Then you would choose who your enemies would be (if you have any), e.g. werewolves, daedra worshippers, hold guards, wild animals, Forsworn and Thalmor (this section would be a multiple choice section). Then you would choose if you would worship any aedra/daedra, and in that case you would also choose which ones to worship. You would then select how known your guild would be on a scale 0-10, where 0 is super secret and 10 is very famous. A 0-fame guild would try to remain secret while the 10-guilds would want the people to "spread the word". You would also choose which ways you would recruit new members, e.g. by personally asking them or new applicants seeking the guild themselves. Then you would create an emblem for your guild (it wouldn't have to be so complicated, maybe you could just edit and combine some pre-made emblems?), and then lastly name your guild.
You could also write in any guild-history and anything else related if you want to. The book would be called "The [guild] Codex" or "The Book of [guild]"
Once you have created your guild, you would have to choose a guild home. This would be made by either choosing a player home or taking over a dungeon. Once the dungeon has been claimed, you would be able to enter a more detailed home decoration, where you can place any decoration you have purchased (e.g. dining table, forge, bar-table, beds, weapon racks, beds...) You would be able to place these things wherever you want in the dungeon. You would also be able to rename the dungeon once you have claimed it.
Then you would have to recruit members. You could either do this by asking friends you've already made or random people that have been generated for the guild recruit purpose. You could also ask taverns and guards to "spread the word" so that new recruits can find your guild. The new members would be able to be given certain tasks within the guild, e.g. second in command, guild-smith, apprentice/student, and so on. The members could be either placed in the guild home (when they are not out on missions), or in any city/village that you want them to be. These members would also be able to do missions/quests and could give you information for random (guild related) quests to do.
People would be able to request your services (if you choose to be a guild that does services for people), and the guild would give you random generated quests to do.
What do you think? Do you like the idea? Anything I should add/remove?
