I looked on amazon and they are selling Skyrim for just $40. This sale is for all platforms and I recommend checking it out for anyone who does not yet have the game.

That download depends on your Steam account, though. What if you lose the account? What if you get banned from Steam? There's reasons why I refuse to buy most games as psychical disks. They will outlive downloads to an extent. They also have a manual that you can flip through without some program taking hours to understand the meaning of needing to know something.

Yeah, I am one of those people who still love buying games in psychical formats.

Soapbox aside, gotta love Steam sales. I bought Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines off one. I don't buy many games these days due to the fact that not many interest me or they don't run well on my computer.

Hopefully Skyrim gets a price change soon. It should be 40 bucks now. It's half a year old!

Ummm...have you ever bought a steam physical copy of a game? if you buy Skyrim in store you still need to install with steam....all it mean is you can install off disc rather then download all the content.

On that note, here in Australia, even on steam (no shipping or store fees) it is still $60 (thats with the sale on, $90 is the non-sale price on steam). just thought I'd add that before someone complains that $40 is a lot.

I know the game still will require Steam. I'd rather not get anyone riled up over this... I just like to have backup plans for the what ifs that I mentioned and prefer having the disk, box, and manual. It comes down to what you prefer.

Australia has always had strange pricing for games. Not sure why the prices there are higher.

Well no offence, but Australian game laws/taxes have always been a bit ridiculous. Just because you aussies pay more for games doesn't mean others can't expect better prices..
