I've done this quest already but on my new playthrough I got the quest to do but was planning on saving it for later. I went to do it yesterday and noticed it wasn't there anymore. Can someone help me out on this one? No I did not do the quest by accident and forget.

The location it's in is random, it's not the same every playthrough. Check the journal to make sure you didn't go to the wrong dungeon.

The quest to even look for his sword is gone from my miscellaneous. No marker or journal entry. I talk to him and he just says regular npc dialogue

Never had it before over god knows how many characters.

Search for the quest ID on the net and use console commands to check it's stage.

Can't I'm on xbox. I guess ill just have to come across the sword and hope it restarts the quest.

Weird. I recently started my second character and he had no quest for it either. I've heard about Noster from Solitude not giving the quest for his helm either.
