Dragonborn Perks - Tree andor Quest Rewards

Post » Sun Jul 15, 2012 11:36 pm

With Dawnguard introducing perk trees for non-skill based improvements, I can't help but think how great it would be to have something similar to improve the Dragonborn's talents. I came up with some ideas of perks I would love to see in future DLC in either the form of a perk tree, or even just quest rewards.

Perks

Thu’um Efficiency – Reduce cooldown 5% (4 ranks)
Lingering Effect – Increase duration 20%
Forceful Impact – Increase damage 20%
Thu’um Cloak – Offensive shouts radiate from the dragonborn in every direction
Kyne’s Rejuvenation – Shouts increase magic/health/stamina regeneration by 20% for 15 seconds.
Deep Breath – Shouts now reach 20% farther
Frul Tiid Stin (Temporary Time Free) – Instant shout cooldown (greater power)
Way Mastery – Double skill perk points per character level (just as an incentive to be the best dragonborn you can be!)

Active Effects/Quest Rewards

Soul Hunger – Opponents killed during shout cooldown decrease timer by a small amount.
Dragon Crafter – Able to craft goods (potions, jewelry, etc.) from dragon remains.
Dragon Enchanting – Use dragon souls to enchant powerful items (weapons that recharge themselves over time, wearable items with unique effects, etc).
Dragon Slayer – Absorbing a dragon soul completely restores magic, health, and stamina.
Dragon Sense – Able to sense a Dragons presence by either showing up in the compass/map or a message popping up in the corner of the screen (so you can more easily prepare for a fight, or run away).

If anything, it would just be nice if they would address the fact that many players have basically peaked with obtaining all the shouts, have tons of dragon bones, scales, souls, and nothing to really invest in.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?

i absolutely love this idea. im assuming it would be like the more you use shouts in combat situations the more perks you would unlock correct?

Now that I think of it I am surprised they didn't have it in Skyrim. Maybe in a DLC.

Terrific idea. I love the idea of using dragon souls for powerful enchantments. As much as I adore Skyrim, I find the enchanting system lacking. Not enough unique effects.

I know, maybe for every dragon you kill you gain a perk for the tree? Then is becomes progressively harder.

Now that I think about it, if you got a mod for instant cooldown for shouts, if it could be used as a primary combat skill, in place of onehanded or destro.

YOu may be on to something, like a shout for summoning a dragon ethereal weapon, and using the shouts in rapid succesion.

This sounds great. It does irk me that they place such emphasis on being Dragonborn and having all these shouts...but no perks for them.
