The reason I say this is almost every unique item or weapon in oblivion has its own appearance, ability, and name. Skyrims weapons are almost all just a basic weapon or armor that has a unique name and ability but share the same appearance as a ton of other weapons. Anyone else annoyed my this?

Exactly the only unique weapons in skyrim are Daedric. Oblivion had Silver bows, umbra and her armor, and a bunch of unique stuff.
