Any Good Assassin Builds Out There? + Good Mods?

Post » Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:50 am

Basically as the title says, I'm starting a new play-though and legit one this time and wanted to make another assassin but this time do something like archery besides just dagger which I will still use, or maybe illusion assassin not 100% sure, when the game first came out after few months when I got the game legibly by buying it I made an assassin but just used daggers. I'm looking for a fun assassin build to play.

For the mods part I'm looking for mods that won't ruin the game but keep me interested, such as maybe weapon/armor mods ETC I was thinking using the monster wars mod, dovokhin hideout, maybe some mods that change npcs and towns not 100% sure yet.

P'S I would like to start my new play-though when dg comes out but don't know if I can I love playing skyrim, and yes I know dg is only like 20 hours of new content.

Howdy! One of my favorite mods to date is called "Sneak Tools" it adds quite a few options, one of them being the ability to knock out NPCs. That's pretty useful for when you have a target in a room, but don't want to have to kill the other people. By the way, I have heard that it is best to start Dawngaurd on a Medium leveled character, so I think you should start now and get some levels before Dawbgaurd comes out.

I'm not on PC so I'm not sure about mods. However, this is the rogue/assassin that I am currently using and I enjoy the build. It looks like a strange combo, but I find it pretty effective. Feel free to use it if you want. :)
Major Skills: Archery, One-Handed, Light Armor, Sneak
Minor Skills: Smithing, Enchanting, Speech, Illusion
If you want more info, please feel free to send me a pm.

I was thinking doing something like this.

Major Skills - Sneak, Archery, One-Hand
Minor Skills - Illusion, Speech.
Optional Skills - Pickpocketing, Lockpicking

IMO light armor is not really needed if you know what your doing but if I was going into it I take advice from this guy that I'm subscribe to on youtube that only put 1-5 in first perk in light armor depending how much armor u wanted, custom fit, and up until windwalker.

As for sneak tree forgot to mention only one point in stealth for 20%, other 4 points seem to be a wasted because they only add 5% more.

I listed my spellsword build on my other thread on this page, although i am calling it a "spellsword" it would probably outperform most if not all "assassin" builds.

Need more people to help and give me their opinions and maybe tell me some good builds.

Should I be completely evil or good/evil or good?

Arinbjorn (my char) is also a Spellsword :) Out of curiosity, how's yours?

Pretty much any race you like can be used within Skyrim, as they are all pretty equal, and its mainly down to RP purposes what race you like. I recommend using dual daggers and investing into illusion to unlock quiet casting. From there, you can use conjuration to summon swords, bows, or whatever weapons you may need besides your daggers. Other than that, just put perks into the usual thief skills, such as sneak. Also, you have to use light armour for any stealth characters!
