Mods That Add NPCs, which ones?

Post » Wed Jul 18, 2012 7:11 am

Hey All,

I've been interested in trying to use mods to create that chaotic war feel for Skyrim. This means I've been using a lot of heavy war mods that add NPCs. Obviously this has led to a lot of crashes, even on my pretty fast computer. I've played around with all different types of combinations, but can some of you guys or gals more experienced than me please provide some advice on which combination will give me the best "war-feeling result" with causing a comparative minimal impact on performance and allow me to play with good stability. That may mean not running some of these and I'm fine with that but I'm curious as to which ones I should I run and which I shouldn't. Thanks in advance!

Here are the mods I'm using in no particular order:
Travellers of Skyrim
Skyrim Monster Mod
Monster Wars
Warzones
more travelers
ASIS
MoreNPCs
Immersive Patrols
Populated Cities
Deadly Dragons
Occupy Skyrim

as Phoenix1213 said you really cant go past http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8429. It has aprox 60 or so fully voiced npc's with backstorys. Simply incredible.

one word of warning... the download is pretty big almost 1/2 a gigabyte!! :ahhh: :ahhh: but did i mention they are fully voiced !!!!
IMHO its one of the best mods to come out of skyrim so far. (no im not getting paid for promoting them  )

Ok I'll try that one. But my main focus here is that having too many mods that add NPCs are causing me problems, so can anybody help me de conflict the mods I already posted? thanks!

there was one or two npc mods that caused save game bloating and or script errors... cant remember which one now but this is could be the cause of your issue.

If it was me I would remove them all and run interesting NPCs. Alot of people (myself included) run it without problems.

Ok maybe I'm not getting the point across here, I'll use interesting NPCs, that's not the problem.

I like a ALOT of heavy fighting, lots of these mods add heavy fighting, but they also cause a lot of crashes, which combination of the mods that I mentioned will allow me to have lots of fighting, but also have more stability, thanks!

To the OP. It looks like you have too much going on, IMHO. I would simplify your set up.

Exactly, do any of you know the best way to simplify this? But still allow me to have that giant "war effect'? Thanks!

just remove some of the mods

keep occupy skyrim or warzones
keep interesting npcs
keep monster mod
keep monster wars

try it out.

either remove one or add another, one at a time till you get it right.
