Some assurances please

I think we can all agree that when Skyrim first came out on the PS3 it had a lot of problems regarding lag/freezing once you had a large save file (over 10mb)

I swore that I wouldn't be buying the next ES game. However, I probably will as I like it too much.

Will Bethesda be giving any assurances before they release the next ES game on the PS3 (or PS4?) that players wont experience the same level of problems again?

I am not saying that the game has to be 100% glitch free or perfect, but come on, the Skyrim they released on PS3 was atrocious. The freezing and slow frame rate once you had a 10mb+ save file was unbearable!

I want assurances that if I buy the ES game that I wont be put through the same excruciating torture that I experienced with Skyrim.

Even Bethesda doesn't know if they can. Not insulting them. I'm just saying they don't have full control over everything. I also heard Sony doesn't like developers using their source code for some reason... I really hope that isn't fully true. Let's just hope Sony makes a less complicated gaming system once the new console generation is fully started up. The last time they promised a game wouldn't be as buggy as Daggerfall ended up with them shipping a buggy game, Battlespire. I only know of this from interviews.

I'm sorry for not really giving much assurance.

They made assurances that the PS3 version of Skyrim had achieved a level of parity with the Xbox 360 version before it was released. I'm sure they'll make similar claims regarding their next title.

Whether or not they're true will be another matter entirely.

I was about to say the exact same thing.

Given that Ps3 versions of past games were awful on Ps3. Beth was asked if the Ps3 version of Skyrim would have the same problems and their answer was: "The PS3 version is getting LOTS of attention"

If they did it before, they will do it again because we haven't been given reason to think otherwise

If the pre release reviews are of versions on platforms other than the PSx, then don't make it a day one purchase, visit the forums first if you really still want it and see what's happening.

Assuming there is a PS section by then of course. ;)

At least then we would know where we stood from the start.
