Elemental Fury is even more awesome than you thought it was

I always liked Elemental Fury. When I played a warrior, I would not enchant my weapons to take advantage of Elemental Fury. I thought I liked it because it gave me faster attack speed. It does do that, but it also does more.

I just noticed that Elemental Fury is even better than I thought it was. With Level 1 Elemental Fury, not only do you get to attack faster, but each strike gets +10 damage ignoring armor.

According to UESP, Elemental Fury increases speed of the weapon. But there seems to be no mention of this extra damage.

Did you guys know this?

Here is my test data:

4 strikes with Nettlebane with Elemental Damage did 66 damage: 16.5 damage per strike

Not aware of that effect. Did you confirm in the construction set? Are extra hits landing that you are not counting?

That is interesting. The CK shows the only effect that the shout has is an increase in weapon speed.

That weapon shows no special damage bonuses or hidden enchantments either, when opened in the CK.

Did you test with another weapon, to rule out any potential quirks between that weapon and the shout?

There is nothing in the Creation Kit that I found that points to this extra damage.

I would encourage everyone to test this in their own game.

If you are on the PC. You can open up the console. Click on your victim and get health data by using the following command: getAVinfo health

I tested with 3 different weapons on 2 opponents so far, Nettlebane, Orcish Dagger, and Ebony War Axe. I'll test more as I learn more Elemental Fury words and with more weapon types. I'll add smithing to the test as well. So far I've used unsmithed weapons.

This is how I tested. FIrst I paralyze the victim. Then measure the health. Then hit him with 4 or 5 strikes. Then measure health again. Then activate elemental fury, then hit him 4 or 5 times, then measure health again.

Ah! I see that now in the OP...duh! I'm getting old...

I never use the paralyze. I just hit the console and click on them. I also toggle god mode on heavy opponents. But novice usually does the trick.

Then you could outfit followers in different armor to test that way.

EDIT: Get them naked to have a control.
