Strangest discovery ever?

Post » Thu Jul 19, 2012 11:53 am

Discovered this 5 minutes ago.
Literally STOPPED PLAYING SKYRIM and left my XBOX to report this oddity.

Just secured the Pale for the Imperials.
On my way back to Tulis in Solitude on foot.
Nearing Ustengrav, I'm leisurely picking ingredients from the swamps when I trudge through some water and hear a metal *THUONG*!

I first guessed that some bandit has died to spiders and dropped his sword in the drink... but no.

My weirdest discovery EVER.

*PREPARE YOURSELF*

An underwater, moveable, 'searchable', empty, INVISIBLE POT.

I hovered over it, by chance, underwater, it says "Search Pot (Empty)".
Activating it doesn't bring up the inventory menu (or anything), HOLDING activation allows you to pick it up (only obvious when I moved and the surface of the water went mental.

I am stumped. It can't be part of a quest surely?
It doesn't make sense!!

I sat there, grabbing it, moving it, placing it, shooting it with arrows back into the water... It's weird.
It EXISTS but is completely undetecable (other than the fact that it makes standard pot clanking noises).

I found it south south east of Ustengrav, in the longish 'pond'.
Found a link to a map:
http://www.uesp.net/maps/srmap/srmap.shtml?locx=-19648&locy=82256&zoom=17

It's almost DIRECTLY north Hjaalmarch Imperial Camp (give or take a meter or two) in the "narrowest" part of the pond, closest to the northern shore, next to (slightly west of) a bunch of fish (dragonflies should be a dead give-away)

Maybe this isn't the most exciting discovery, but it's the weirdest I've found...

Can anyone else confirm that this exists and that I'm not crazy!?

Maybe its a tranformer, but it won't turn back into its Dragon mechanical form?

It seems the pot is supposed to be something the player shouldn't find without console commands, but ended up being left way too far up in the ground. Most of these things will only be possible to find if you use console commands to go through walls and the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more of these things that were left too close to where the player could find them while playing normally.

I'm assuming the pot was for testing purposes or is used to respawn things.

That's also something that wasn't supposed to be found without console commands. It was left in too accessible of a distance in the ground. You can cause the caravans to stopped appearing if you use any of those chests. It's a Khajiit caravan merchant chest. Most merchant chests can't be found without console commands, as well. They are for referencing the leveled list so the merchant can keep restocking.

There's a little place called Bard's Leap or something, I apologize for not remembering the name, but there's a huge peak overlooking a waterfall and a large lake. You can climb up to where it looks like it was meant for jumping off. Out of curiosity I figured I'd jump and see what happens. I saved my game, (just incase), got a running start then jumped. After landing safely in the water there's an interesting little something. I won't spoil it for any of you.

It's not the strangest, nor even the greatest, but it is interesting.

That is very strange.

Pot doesn't usually grow underwater.

My favorite discovery is still the Necromancer resurrecting chickens. Only found him once. And it was awesome.

Aquatic pot is something that only works on Slaughterfish, so it isn't worth being halted and called criminal scum for.

I was walking on top of a mountain path, when a horse comes flying through the air. It lands a few yards in front of me, bounces off the ground, and flies off the mountain. I never found the rider, or a giant.

Haha, ran into that little oddity myself last night, took me a bit by surprise. Notice he was worshipping a shrine with a nest and a chicken egg in it too?

Have to start small in life. However, I do like the random encounters with Necromancers that will raise up some dead animals that were caught in the fray. Reminds me of old card games.. I will now throw at you a goat!

There's a DREMORA pirate in game, it's so random hardly anyone stumbles upon his quest.

Strangest thing I ever saw in this game, I was travelling the road to Whiterun and as I was getting close I saw in the distance something that started off pretty low but was slowly moving up into the sky. Once I got close enough I realized it was a sword and a shield, flying up into the sky like a balloon. I watched them until they turned into a little pixel and then disappeared.

Also, this isn't exactly strange, but I just realized there's a fletcher with a shop in Solitude. I was pretty surprised to find this considering I've played around 600-700 hours of this game and didn't already know he was there. I hope i'll be finding new content up until the day the next ES comes out

I stumbled upon it.... I feel accomplished

Also, I just realised, Dremora look like Dumner with unique war paint. This is a let down.
