The shocking hidden world of Skyrim!

Post » Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:15 pm

Last night, coming down from Dragonsreach, I notice the plains district looked very weird. As I approach, it looks like the game didn't render graphics very well, and there were open holes about. I didn't bother with a save, fearing this would corrupt my game, but I just couldn't resist exploring (and hoping I didn't find a quest item I can't drop).

I walk to the area Breezehome should be, and I just allow my character to drop. Look! Another hole! I drop again. I move about, getting further away from Whiterun and the land's entirely barren of scenery and other buildings.

It was absolutely freaky and fascinating at the same time. I guess the game's walls are forever, because I kept bumping into something which I could only guess was a mountain.

Either that, or I died and this is how the afterlife looked! :D

Actually, I headed back towards the Whiterun in the sky until I came to a dark door, which presented the text "Open Door Skyrim".

I clicked, and sure enough, there was Frost, standing right outside the gates where I left him.

That was absolutely freaky, so I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Well, it's not like no one warned you that Alduin was out to destroy everything. But did you listen? Nooooo. You had to run around and join the Thieves Guild instead of saving the world. Now look at the mess you made!

Once, I was in a sewer and thought that if I could jump onto one of those cabbage carts, I could reach a ledge above me. I jumped a few times and suddenly I made the "huuhhgh" noise like it hurt me and the whole world turned grey. I moved around a bit and suddenly, I was in the woods outside Riften. Strange.

Ah, yeah, that's a bug, I would occasionally do that in oblivion when fooling around with acrobatics. i think I did that once in proudspire manor as well.
