Just wandering why?

Okay i was having trouble with steam, and in the end i decided to un-install steam and Skyrim. After that i reinstalled both again, but much to my surprise steam also downloaded and installed the Highres pack? As i understand it, the Highres pack is optional and as such should not be automatically installed unless you choose to do so yourself, correct?

If that is indeed the case then why where they installed with out my consent? Also can i remove the esps and the BSA's from the Highres pack...or would they be installed again when i have to use "Verify Cache"? ( And we all know that sooner or later we have to use it. :) )

It's classified as DLC, so it is added automatically to the download if you added it to your account previously.

I have it D/L, but leave it unchecked.

But i never added it, never wanted the Highres pack. So i am puzzled as to why they are installed any way?

Yes i know i can do that and i will, but they should not have been installed, that is what is bothering me right now?

Have you checked your order history to make sure?

Also, you can contact Steam Support to have it removed from the account.

The same thing happened to me, I was pretty pissed. But all you can do is just wait for the download to finish (max 5 hours at a crappy internet speed like mine). Steam/Beth will probably never fix it anyway.
