Im stuck on the xbox and ive played skyirm for more than 500 hours now, but i just cant play it anymore =p. Most default gameplay systems in skyrim are just plain broke, and now that ive seen all the fancy mods for the PC version, the current system just doesnt do it for me anymore.

In a heartbeat i would download a mod that spreads out all the benefits of smithing.

Eventually i will get a PC and the PC version. I dont think i'll ever buy a bethesda game for console ever again after that =p. Mods are just to essential to the experience now.

Yeah, gameplay mechanics or balance aren't Bethesda's strong point, which is why say all of them (since Oblivion atleast) need an UI and a balance overhaul mod

This is a driving factor for me wanting to build a pc. The mods add so much replay value.

im looking at this one mod that changes smithing. improving weapons is its own path, and its linear to the level of weapons you find naturaly (steel, dwemer, elven, glass, ebony, Daedric)

i hate how the default system makes kinda makes its dumb to perk up both sides of the tree. I HATE missing out on glass weapons =[. thats just a sin =p

I think bethesda knows that the gameplay isnt exactly as good as they want it to be. I mean why would they have had the update that makes smithing harder to level if they dint think that the skill works well as is designed?

I just hope that i'll get some kind of official overhaul for me on the console instead of having to wait for the next elder scrolls game =p

I'm sure every dev wishes there game could be better, but at least Bethesda is trying to make it better through patches and DLC.

Have you bought Dawnguard yet? Itll change things up a bit

But yeah, the wisest thing I did in terms of Skyrim was changing from PS3 to PC.

There are a lot of perk mods for Skyrim, but I think the only truly necessary ones are Helmless Warrior and Skip-able Perks; one lets you get the effects of the armor perks with only 3 pieces of that armor, the other lets you pick any perk you want in a perk tree as long as you have a high enough skill, so you don't have to waste perks on "Fists of Steel" or other things.

Because they didn't make it harder to level, they just made you have to think of something new beyond "dur spam daggers dur". Oh, and made it more in line with how Alchemy leveled (item with more value = http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1397563-now-that-ive-looked-at-perk-overhauls-for-the-pc-i-cant-play-skyrim-anymore/more skill progression).
