Help create my warrior

Post » Sun Jul 22, 2012 11:22 am

I'm going to create a Nord warrior for my next play through. I've been thinking and talking about this for awhile now and have yet to commit to a character. My planned build is to go with a 2H, heavy armor beast of a man. Thinking of something like this: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#161899

Not an overly complicated build, threw speech in there to help with RP. Besides any tips to the build, what I'm REALLY looking for is help with my RP. I have yet to complete the MQ and I'm looking to spend a lot of hours with this character. My other character (assassin/thief) lasted till around lvl 30ish and then I retired him. I have yet to come up with another character that can hold my attention longer than level 10. I'm hoping this 2H nord warrior can.... Keep in mind my knowledge of TES is limited and I'm trying to learn backstory and lore of races as I go....

Current character ideas:

I want him to be a bad ass M'fer. He'll kick ass and take names. Lives to fight, kill, and drink mead! No magic or enchanting but he will be a blacksmith. Most times he will do whats right but can have the occasional slip in moral judgement. Those that get to know him love him but don't cross him or he will make you pay with blood. If you are on his bad side you better run.

Besides these thoughts I'm lost. I don't know enough lore to come up with a solid backstory. Who do Nords like/hate? Who would he side in the civil war? I'll take all ideas!

If you want an interesting character, give him some facets, allow some complexity. Maybe he dabbles in Destruction magic, or has a talent for sneaking. And maybe there's a certain type of armor that he prefers, even if it's normally not the strongest. Or maybe he just likes to cook, or has a soft spot for saber cats (so he avoids them instead of killing them). Have fun.

Sound's like a typical Nord o.o
Short temper and drinks mead all day.

I guess just add more specific details on him.
like what God he worships, or Daedra for that matter, so he could always wear a Amulet of Kynareth at all times or something.
perhaps have a grudge on Werewolves for something that happened in the past.

Yeah I have the typical details down. I need the forums help creating the specific details, I'm trying to read up on Nord lore but there is so much!

well if your gonna go more towards a Stereotype Nord, his God could be Talos and he has a Grudge toward Elves, Beast Races, Imperials, and Magic users o.o

Kind of what I was thinking. Which would mean side with the stormcloaks and hate the Thalmor? How do Nords feel about vampires and ware wolfs?

I guess that is something that varies, although no one who really isn't a Vampire likes them, but you got the Companions view on Werewolves and just common citizens who think all Undead are a blight on Tamriel.

Don't forget some kind of ranged weapon, bow or magic. All the questlines can be done without, but it's alot harder and takes longer.

I'm going bow, no magic for this Nord! I might place perks into later on as I will have more to play with but won't focus on it early on.
