Do you actually cook?

I like the idea of cooking in Skyrim. Its a good concept but I don't see much of a reason to cook when I play this game. Most food you can cook pales in comparison to the potions you can drink.

I'm gonna go do some cooking after I post this but there are some things I wonder about. If you eat something that has been cooked, is there a benefit for eating something that was cooked? If not, there should be. Eat one thing and you get a boost for being nurished, eat two and you get another boost for being full, eat three things and you get a negative effect because you at too much (too many food effects).

From the long list of recipes in Skyrim, only a couple of dishes are actually worth cooking.

1) Modified effects from eating cooked food to boost the effect. (who cares about cooking meat when it only restores 10 points of health?)

2) New recipes which give benefits to the schools of magic or aspects of an individual school of magic such as Fire, Frost and Shock for Destruction.

3) Recipes to shorten the cool down of shouts and/or make them make them stronger.

4) Recipes to give magical effects such as night eye, detect life, detect dead or to effect the world around you such as a food to calm animals around you like bears and saber cats.

5) Recipes for regular people but have added effects for vampires and werewolves. (Blood Sausage for vampires and something for werewolves).

6) Recipes which boost movement speed so we can run a little faster.

I know real food doesn't do these sorts of things but this is a world with magic. Some Alcemical reagents added to a food can do something cool right?

What do you think everyone? Do you want cooking in Skyrim to be "spiced" up?

Mmmmmm, Blood Sausage. Almost as tasty as human flesh.

I've got some Blood Sausage right here at the moment.

There all good ideas but I just don't know if they will do anything more with cooking.

I cook all the time IRL lol. in game I like cooking on occasion, it adds to roleplaying, when you have to eat/sleep/cook/hunt. I think it's a neat concept that could be expanded upon in future titles/DLC.

Usually Elswyr Fondue and soups. They can go a long way in the beginning of the game.

I cook a lot. It's part of the role playing for me. Also, some of the meals have rather useful effects.

It makes for great role playing... eating food material. Besides, this one wants to share some sugar.
