I just have to say this real quick, because I'm really getting annoyed. In Skyrim, mages do nothing but shoot something at you, a beam, a bolt, a storm. Maybe they conjure something, but overall, it gets so old. I'd like to see mages throw a paralysis spell. Why can't they shake things up like in Oblivion when they used to cast Damage Stamina, Burden, Disintegrate Armor, Weakness to Fire or Drain Blade..oh yeah, we don't get those in Skyrim. Well, that's too bad. Things were sure a lot more interesting back then...

I agree with you, the amount of variety is dismal in Skyrim. I'd have loved to see enemy mages rock Paralysis, Silence, Burden, or something. It'd be interesting if at higher levels, if there is a, say, a Cryomancer, his friends will hit you with Weakness to Frost to make his job easier while he blasts you with frost spells.

They should definitely get a more comprehensive spell list.

try pretty much any stormcloak soldier in the civil war. there ya go
as opposed to the variety magic used to have, the only thing they could add to archery is enchanted arrows. but they are still arrows.

lol, but archery is always limited to one thing and so are other weapons. Magic has always had variety, you see? That's what was so cool about it.

Not entirely one trick ponies... I've had them summon an atronach (or necromancers raise a dead ally) first then spam one spell


However I do agree!! They never cast more than one element spell, and only from one hand. The second hand never has a second spell! They never overcast, or mix it up when they notice you are resistant to their element.
