Bethesda answer me this

Post » Wed Oct 03, 2012 7:57 pm

1. Bethesda… why didn’t you develope Skyrim on Playstation 3 first given how complicated porting can be from Xbox 360 to Playstation 3?

2. Any viable entity projects a rate of successes and a rate of failures with their business plan. By assuming you adhere to the law and pretest your products for the lawful required amount of time, why weren’t Playstation 3 users given a fair notice or a delayed release of Skyrim to maximize quality and fair usage for current and forthcoming content of Skyrim?

3. Given the amount of complaints and faulty replicas of your design why hasn’t your company requested a recall of the Playstation 3 version of Skyrim? Are you unaware that you can be held liable in the court of law for false advertising, mental anguish, and bad faith business dealings?

4. Bethesda, Playstation 3 users have proof that:

a. Skyrim was defective before they purchased it.

b. The un-obvious defects of Skyrim on Playstation 3 could not have been seen before purchasing.

c. You did not for-warn or notify them about Skyrim’s defects before the sale or that you actually lied about it.

d. Playstation 3 users relied on your lies or non-disclosures of the the Playstation 3 version of Skyrim.

e. Playstation 3 users have suffered monetary damage due to your negligent misrepresentation of Skyrim on Playstation 3.

What is your response to that?

Well, game development IS a business, and Microsoft probably bid higher than Sony to get that pooch in the doghouse.

1. Because the Xbox is their primary development platform.

2. Legal crap i don't wish to comment on.

3. Because the issues are fixable via online distribution of patches. The speed of the fixes depends on how easily they can identify the cause and fix them.

4a. Proof of defect before purchase is impossible without physically seeing it. And if thats the case, why did you knowingly buy a defective product? Jokes on you for this one.

4b. There is only so much testing a handful of people can do on an open world game. To assume that those few people could identify all issues and account for every situation is quite frankly, stupid.

4c. No developer would, in their right mind, knowingly release faulty products. The lag issue was missed because it didn't show on their dev consoles, so there is no way they could have known about it beforehand. And on top of the hardware of the system being a pain to work with and laughably outdated, it would have been common sense for the consumer to know that it would be peachy perfect. The best idea would have been to skip the PS3 all together, but then the complaint would be "Why didnt PS3 get Skyrim blah blah blah". You cant please everyone.

4d. That is the fault of the consumer. Blindly going into a purchase is stupid in every situation. You should have waited to see reviews and gameplay videos of users. Doing your homework before buying would have saved you. Your fault.

4e. Again, that is the fault of the consumer. Know what you are buying before you fork over the cash.

Oh well might as well say it, the PS3 doesnt svck, I play it and it is cool for console games like NBA 2K13 but for your intensive needs go PC all the way OP and dont blame Beth for the problems with Skyrim, blame Captialism for giving Zenithmedia a great deal with Micro$oft

I don't have a PS3 because I personally don't think it is as good as the 360 for RPGs (just my opinion), but I must agree that PS3 users got the shaft here. I do not think, however, that is was intentional. The last thing Bethesda wants to do is alienate such a huge portion of their fanbase. Perhaps Beth could release Hearthfire for free for PS3 users?

In Bethesda's defense, the PS3 is a convoluted, and over complicated platform to develop for.

No offense, but 4d and 4e are wrong-o.

If everyone waited to purchase something, nobody would ever buy it, and thus, nobody would know it didn't work.

If GM put out a car, and joe buys it, and after 10k miles it spontaneously explodes, and so does the next, people would stop driving, and GM would be paying out the rear.

Dear Poster,

Do you realize that the Playstation 3 is a dinosaur, and the fact that Skyrim can even run on it, or the Xbox 360 is nothing short of a miracle. Your anger should instead be directed at Sony, where a letter asking them to hurry and develop the Playstation 4 would not be misplaced.

What is your response to that?

That's why they are the only company that can't do this? That's like sticking up for the professional football player that keeps tripping because he can't tie his shoes; "in his defense there isn't any velcro on his shoes"
