Will there ever be DLC where you fight the Thalmor in a 2nd

Well will there? I think a lot of people would like that and Bethesda has done a good job of making an in-game organization which I genuinely hate.

That'd probably be saved for another game.

Yeah, another game perhaps. If they wanted to do such an event any justice, they wouldnt try and put it in a DLC.

Yeah probably, it will probably just take a backseat to another world threatening revelation, just like the Civil War and the Dragons.

Hopefully not, because the Thalmor should be expanded upon in a full game (ES 6 Summerset Isles hopefully). Not a DLC.

I don't understand people's wanting to have a "Great War scenario" for a DLC. You people do realize it would be absolutely ridiculous right? It sure as hell would not be a full Thalmor army fighting against a full Imperial/Stormcloak force. It would not do such a conflict justice by any sense of the imagination and would certainly not be "epic."

It would be exactly like how the Civil War was handled in the game. Disappointing and generic. 10 guys fighting another 10 guys.....

Defeat the Thalmor Army!

A 2nd Great War perhaps not. A Great War 1.5; I'd be down for that. Let us cripple the Thalmor in a Skyrim DLC. Save the Coup de Grace for TES 6 or whatever.

Well okayt, but Bethesda doesn't seem to be good at making epic battles, maybe in the next game they can make epic battles with thousands of soldiers on the Battlefield. I mean Skyrim has a lot of nice plains for large thousand-man battles but I guess that would crash everyone's PCs and consoles.

That isn't going to come around for a long time. Not with the current game mechanics that the Elder Scrolls series deals with (its already possible with something like the Total War series, but that is a completely different game-genre and thus has different inner workings).

So with that in mind, I say no to any attempt to portray a large-scale war in-game. Its just not feasible and would leave us all disappointed.

Better question will be, will they ever fully release any DLC?

But it could be feasible in the next game if they make a new engine for the next generation right?

Highly doubt it. That would be some sort of engine improvement.

Look at the differences between the engine used for Oblivion and Fallout 3 and then compare it to Skyrim. There's about the same numbers of individuals fighting in "battles." Skyrim does have a few more, but its not a huge improvement.

I agree completely. Not only should something that big given its own full game, but so far the way we have seen wars is rather meh. The game engine itself really is not suited to present a full on war. ES is not Rome Total War. Having the war taking place in TES 6 would be good, but I do not think our characters should be on the front lines like the Skyrim civil war. Better if we are doing some kind of espionage behind the lines, hunting for some plot macguffin that will save/destroy the world (depending on whose side you are on). I do hope you can join the Dominion in the next game too, especially if it is set in Summerset. That would be a lot of fun.
