Thinking, "If only ___ could happen in the game"...

I'm playing a sort of scholar character, and the College of Winterhold notwithstanding, I found that there seemed to be relatively few actual scholarly quests. I thought to myself, "It would be awesome if you could find some rare book and get a Dwemer related quest of some kind requiring you to journey to lots of different ruins and figure out some ancient Dwemer puzzle."

So then I found a certain book in the Arcaneum (which I will not name for fear of spoiling it for other fellow similar characters,) and lo and behold... that's precisely what happened! I love it when that happens in a game. Especially when I've already played half a dozen characters to high level and still come across things I haven't found, in a sea of what otherwise feels like I've retread it over and over.

And the fact that this only happened because I made a point to read every book in there (or else I might have easily missed it.) Awesome.

My 'this could happen' moments tend to come pretty soon after that sweet voice of Lydia's says "This could be trouble"....

Seriously, there is an awful lot of non-obvious content, quests, locations and other goodies lurking around Skryim. I've put in 1500+ hours, and am running a new character, and he's getting things and seeing places that are completely new to me. The deeper you dig, the more you find...it's a great game for that.

That's why I love TES. You can spend hundreds of hours with several different characters and still discover new and wonderful things. :)
