So, i haven't been around...

Post » Sat Nov 03, 2012 2:23 pm

It's quite some time since i last played Skyrim yet somehow i feel compelled to play it again! Can anyone tell me what has changed significantly after patch 1.4? Were the textures/framerate issue fixed? What is new in the game, besides the expansions?

Any information is welcome!

Also, would Skyrim run smoothly on my laptop?

Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i5-3210M 2.50 Ghz
6 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT630M 2GB

Thanks in advance :)

In one of the later patches they added mouted combat, meaning you can now fight from your horse. They added some new kill-cam animations too. Like ones that follows your arrow into the enemy, and my personal favorite, the one where you can now sneak up behind people and slit throats. :goodjob:

Not sure if you knew about this or if it was even post patch 1.4.

I'm guessing you're aware of the two DLCs that are available, including Hearthfire where you can build your own home, adopt children, and all that good stuff.

Aside from that I can't think of what all the patches added or fixed. I think they're at patch 1.8 now.

Build your own home? But i thought we could buy a house in the main cities already, or?

We can buy plots of land in the Pale, Falkreath and Hjaalmarch, and build homes there.

Yes, most of the cities have homes in them in which you can purchase and add furnishings. Hearthfire introduced the ability to actually build your own home if you wanted to go that route. There are three specific plots of land that you can buy the deed for and once you do you're free to build any home of any size. It's really great actually. It lets you mount specific animals and creatures you've beaten and you can display them in your house. It gives you the ability to adopt children and you can let them have pets like a fox or rabbit. It adds some more things that I haven't mentioned as well.

Even with Hearthfire you can still buy the homes in the cities.

Thanks for the info Xurts.

No problem. :goodjob:
