1.8 update has now made some bugs worse.

Since updating to 1.8 I am almost unable to play Skyrim, due to the water flickering wildly.
This bug only showed up occasionally in caves and indoor locations before the update, now it seems to be a permanent feature, even in outdoor locations now.

Tried every tweak with settings etc that you can shake a stick at, but nothing seems to help.
I've disabled all water reflections, reduced specularity fade to zero and tried various settings in Catalyst Control Centre. It's nothing to do with the SLI bug as I've only got 1 graphics card, Radeon X1950 Pro AGP (an old card I know, but I can play Fallout 3 on max settings with the system that I have).

Anyone got any ideas what to try next, or has anyone released an unofficial bug-fix that may solve the issue (and show Bethesda how it's done  )
