DLC through Steam only is not going to last

I bought the disc version of Skyrim, and it only takes about 10 minute to install the game minus patches, and steam update. However Dawnguard, and the High Res DLC bring the grand total of time to half a day running DSL connection with 173kb's per sec download peak rate. That's like installing an OS, and all of the updates worth of time. For a game? That's outrageous.

Bethesda deciding not to release any and all add-on's on disc is not a good idea IMO. The time it takes to install a game like this through Steam is a big turn off. I have Oblivion, with all add-on content available on disc because it was available in store. I am up and running with that game is less than 30 minutes including the patch.

I'm reinstalling Skyrim write now as I type. I started at 3:30PM PST today. It is now 8:00PM PST, and it's no where near being finished. Think I'm going to buy Hearthfire, or any future DLC with the pathetic time it will add to the install? I'm sorry, but not eveyone can afford lighting speed internet.

This is bullchit, and killing my enthusiasm. I love this title, but I'm not going to grow into an old Moth priest waiting to enjoy it.

I know I'm not alone.

Wait for the Game of the Year edition. It's not financially viable to release individual DLCs on disc anymore, that's the bottom line.

I don't think buying the game twice, while paying consolation to financial viablility to said company is a good sales pitch.
