Can you milk the cow you buy or does it serve no purpose?

I've not found any option on the cow to do anything but the chicken does lay an egg.

Lol yeah, it is wierd that the nords always goes on and on about milk-drinkers, and yet this mysterious liquid is nowhere to be found in all of Skyrim... :s

I really wanted non-alcoholic drinks in the game for RP purposes. Water and milk, water especially would be perfect for a hunter/survivalist type character.

Well we can use the mead kegs to get mead now so maybe cows could be milked?

As I've often said, "milk-drinker" is an insult that essentially means "still being briast-fed". You're not getting THAT kind of milk from cows.

Well, I know you can buy milk now, but so far I can't figure out how to milk a cow.

I haven't seen water yet. And yes, I believe it said that it restores 2 hp. So not very useful, unless you perhaps use it to cook? I haven't gotten very far so I'm not really sure.

Nah I only use food for RP purposes anyway. I rarely need to heal but when I do I just use an ultimate health potion.

Can you use milk to make cheese? Or do you just drink it?

It's listed under "cooking items" on UESP: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Hearthfire_Items

It might be used for the bakery stuff (snowberry crostada, etc.). I'm not that far yet... still looking for the best plot of land.

I think it's awesome they added milk. I started a thread a while back on this: "Yeah, I'm a milk drinker. Got a problem with that? Here is my strong arm with strong bones filled with delicious calcium from milk crushing your skull with an axe, mead drinker".
