Question With Feeding.

I was just setting up my new char for when dawngaurd drops on the ps3 and i was curious about 1 rather large detail. I was hoping to make a char a PURE vampire, as in never drinking so as to get the full set of powers.

Does the vampire bite finish attack as the lord, reset your REGULAR vampire skills?

I mean, does it drop you back to day 1 vamp abilities?

You know, as I played as a vampire lord, I never even really noticed this, probably because I did most of my vampire lord killings using magick. Just do what I do in experimenting and do a before-hand save.

huh! I've never really considered that. Thinking back I'd like to say no, but I don't have any solid knowledge to back that up since I had explicitly paid attention to that. Next time I'm on I'll give it a shot and let you know!

Interesting question :D

Heh thanks. I was just watching a video on dawngaurd and saw a lord do the bite and moments later was about to check current stats then the video ended. I actually cant find any informations about this. Its a pretty big deal to anyone who will play a normal vampire. Ive always loved playing him but due to NPCS attacking as you reach max vamp level, its been more a burden then anything.

ALSO ive thought about this one alot too. I think drinking from someone as a reg vamp shouldnt drop you back to normal (vamp lvl 1), it should lower your lvl by 1. (vamp lvl 4 -> drink -> vamp lvl 3) Because sometimes i just wanna lower it down a little, not restart all over again.

The whole lore behind the Elder Scrolls Vampire has always been backward. When you look at most mythos of the vampire when you feed you get stronger. TES is the first time I have seen it otherwise. I understand that perhaps they did this to keep the vampire character balanced but 1.) it is a single player RPG, who cares if it is balanced? 2.) There are things you could do to make it difficult to feed to become more powerful.

Anyway that comment was a bit off topic.

I too would like to know if it resets your stats. Now that the whole "we'll attack you on sight" thing is done away with, I'd also like to play as a stage 4.

At the castle where Harkan is there a numerous bottled blood which you carry round which does the same as if you feed, it also restores 100 Health.

No, I entered VL form and did the power bite on them while I was level 4. It did not revert me back to level 1 Human form.

SWEET !! Thank you for testhing this out richard.

ABout the getting stronger, i do agree, but the lore behind the cyrodilic vampires (thats the breed playable in TES), Their speciality is concealment. From drinking theyre able to hide their true nature. Theres a book in TES, called Immortal Blood, it highlights the various species of vampires.

This has been answered in other threads, but the basic summary is that the vampires of Tamriel are not the same as the vampires of other mythologies. In the Elder Scrolls universe, feeding is something that sates the beast, allowing a vampire to maintain more of their humanity.

According to the lore some of the other species (including the volkihar) are supposed get stronger by feeding. Theres something like 10 different species. The only playable vampires are the Cyrodiilic vampires. Which we all know and either love or hate.
