Huh, I certainly have not gotten that. Have you tried simply reinstalling the CK?

Deleted both ini files and verified integrity to re-download anything amiss.

I can click retry or ignore to dismiss and the CK continues to load fine.

Concern is that anything I do might have issues or incompatabilities.

Nope, haven't seen that, but then I haven't touched much yet with the new CK either. Seems to be indicating a possible problem with a loose file resource?

I was curious enough to backup Skyrim, reinstall everything, and run Skyrim and the CK with nothing added. Same thing.

A dependency check suggests a couple of system dll files missing. One I know to ignore. The other is gpsvc.dll. There is no 32 bit version of that file on Windows 7 64 and I can't see why they would link against it anyway.

Assuming it's related, I'm going to ignore it and carry on.

Odd. gpsvc.dll is an OS component, so obviously you won't have a 32 bit copy of that installed. It's used for Group Policy stuff. Maybe that's just a false read from the dependency check? Steam isn't installed under Program Files is it?

Are you using a FAT32 filesystem instead of NTFS? That error sadly isn't clear whether the message states the error or a used workaround so we can only guess.

Would Win7x64 even allow you to use FAT32?

Nope. Same with Win8 as they both use symbolic links which are specific to NTFS. There are bound to be other reasons, but...

No not as a System drive, but the CK may well be installed on an old hard drive from an old PC. And afaik that should work just like an fat32 usb flash drive

Windows 7 X64 with steam installed to root in a seperate hard-drive dedicated to games. OS installation is about 2 months old and all storage is NTFS on MBR partition tables.
