Is it feasible: An Old School Interface

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 8:13 pm

There have been a few UI mods, most of them focus on making the UI go away. I was hoping to perhaps myself, or perhaps find someone more skilled to make an old school RPG interface. Think Arena, or the original EQ1 interface... all the stone, maybe some torches, Maybe an icon for weapon you have equipped (or spell).

I have done some basic modding/texture editing... but I couldn't find the UI elements i the texture section, my guess is they are hidden somewhere else. At the same time, my guess is someone else may be more suitable to doing this.

I Understand this may be entirely impossible.. Or if it is possible it may only just still be the Health/Stamina/Magicka and Compass.

I know this may seem strange, but I like old interfaces, maybe not all the time kinda thing, but when I am having a nostalgia kick.

Skyrim uses Scaleform, so the UI is made up of Flash elements (if my understanding of the technology is correct). The guys responsible for http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1418911-relz-skyui/ are working on a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1386363-wipz-hud-widget-framework/page__hl__widgets, so that should make it easier to modify and create new HUD elements.
