You'd think after the numerous complaints about how annoying the Housecarls and spouses etc were while lingering around our houses, stuck in their infinite welcome phrase loops, something like this just wouldn't happen...

Sounds like she's bugging out on you. She should not be repeating loops, and her asking what you want should only be a prompt to the inventory switch. Something has caused her to bug.

Have you tried a re-load???

Are you at the "Chasing Echoes" chapter of the DG questline, by chance? Specifically, the part where you're exploring the back half of Castle Volkihar? Because if so, then yes Serana bugs out there and will be constantly repeating that dialogue. It'll fix itself as you advance through the quest however.

The enchant table at Fort Dawnguard is where this dialogue loop occurred for me. I just tried another table, and it did not happen.

Clarification: It's not a constant stream of pvssyr, but yeah, when you (or she) gets close enough to each other, she reacts as a non-follower NPC would (if you stay still she will keep looping of course).
It's happened on and off in various parts of the Dawnguard mq (no speciffic circumstances from what I can tell), thankfully it has not happened for a fair while now, annoying while it lasted though.

*sigh*

At least she's hot.

Huh, never really had that happen to me. Or I did and just didn't realize it. I guess your only option is to try and ignore it but that doesn't sound very good either

I don't find her random banter too bad though (yet?).
While we're at it, let's not forget her proclivity for leaving ash-piles all over the place.

Ran into another interesting problem with her, the "wait" option can make the "follow me" option dissapear, she has a lot of tricks in that tricksy bad of hers. mmhmm. indeed she does.

EDIT: Am very impressed with DG all in all, but some of the current problems really does take the fun out of it.

At first I though all of the new dialogue we got with serana was interesting, but now it is annoying beyond belief. Yes I know the sun is bright wear some [censored] sun block if it bothers you so much. Your a vampire it isn't like you are going to get skin cancer or a sun burn and any other sun related injuries or diseases.

Personally, I don't think she is that great a follower. I'll stick with with my housecarls, K'jharo and Jenasa, thank you very much.

She only did it to one of my characters, I ended up turning the sound way down, it was just too annoying. An option to tell her to SHUT UP would have been great.
