That moment when you feel like a complete dirtbag

If there's one thing Skyrim does well, it's make you question your in-game morals and motives.

Saving Whiterun from a dragon attack, completing multiple quests for the citizens and getting to know Jarl Balgruuf and his court, really made me feel like a part of the city. Being named Thane of Whiterun and rewarded with a weapon to defend the city, I decided to purchase a home and make it my permanent residence, even marrying the Housecarl that Balgruuf introduced me to. But as Skyrim's civil war waged, I found my loyalties lay with Ulfric Stormcloak and his rebellion.

I walked into the city I called my home, under guise of allegiance. These people knew me, respected me, and rejoiced in my return to once again save their city from attack.

I killed so many of them.

I cut them down one by one on my march to Dragonsreach, all in the name of Ulfric Stormcloak. I killed for a man who wouldn't think of dieing for me. To what end? For what means?
