The Dawnguard werewolf experience...

I got Dawnguard a few months ago, but before I started playing it they released Dark Souls for the PC, then Xcom, then Dishonored, then Far Cry 3...and well you get the picture, but now I am ready to get back to playing Skyrim.
Now, I have not turned into a werewolf in the vanilla game but I did get a werewolf mod called Tales of Lycanthropy, which was supposed to address the small problems the werewolf had on vanilla like their lack of scalable damage, howls etc. Since Dawnguard has its own perk tree for werewolves I am kind of wondering if those changes are good enough for the werewolf form to be viable throughout the game (espacialy at higher levels) or should I get the latest Tales of Lycanthropy mod. I am very careful not to use overpowered mods with uber items or "cheats" so I am just holding out to know this before starting the Dawnguard adventure, so all comments are welcome

Werewolf is insanely overpowered. If you're fully perked out, expect never to die. Even against dragons.
