Azra's Staffs glitch

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 3:25 pm

So I got another radiant side quest called "Azra's staffs" from Neloth that sent me to high gate ruins. Now I already cleared out high gate ruins and when I reached Vokuns throne room(the room where you fight him) I couldn't progress any further. The gates keep me from progressing to the word wall. Is there a switch I'm missing or something? If not is there a way for me to fail this quest? I don't want to keep a quest that I can't complete in my journal. -sigh- Its bad enough I have Onmund's Request uncompleteble because I can't progress through yet another dungeon that I cleared beforehand. My save before this point is way too far back also.

I replied in the bugs thread how you can get into High Gate Ruins, you would need to take a follower with you and go in the back way you would have used when you defeated Vokun. What was the problem with Onmund's Request?

This is why I haven't explored outside of actual quests. I've found almost every place, but haven't gone in without a working quest. Well do I remember that free exploration was the cause of many stuck quests in the vanilla game. A year ago I already had a couple stuck quests in my PS3 playthrough. Burn me once or 6 times, shame on Beth. Burn me in DLC, shame on me because I know what can happen and I paid extra to have these new experiences.

I'll repeat my Skyrim mantra here: be very mindful when freely-exploring, think thrice before gleefully killing NPCs outside of a directed quest, and save like a demon!
