Creepy Seekers

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 9:46 am

I dont know maybe it's just me but these Seeker's seem to really creep me out with their tentacle faces and [censored] <------ "Poop". Let me know if you guys get creeped out by anything else in Apocrypha.

The enemies aren't what get to me. It's the tentacles that lash out at you. Especially in the dark areas.

I think the Seekers are transmogrified people.

In the book "The Doors of Oblivion", it is said that the invisible souls of the lost haunt the halls of Apocrypha, constantly searching for forbidden knowledge. The Seekers haunt the halls of Apocrypha, can be invisible, when left alone search through book stands, hold books, and wear tattered robes. Coincidences? I think not!

Had the most terrifying time in Apocyrpha yet. :(

So the book that would grant you hidden knowledge and take you back to Solstheim was at the other end of a dark, narrow pathway that was just visible from where I started out. I found out soon that it was filled with lashing tentacles, seekers, and lurkers, and that staying in the dark for too long would cover your sight in black smoke until you were completely blind.

Yes I agree. They seem to multiply and be all over the place. That and they are as ugly as sin.

Apocrypha: the land of nightmares and horror.
Hermaeus Mora: HP Lovecraft. When he died he became the daedric prince of knowledge and fate. And made his home into a work of his stories from life.
So yes. Apocrypha is scary as hell.

I actually wrote a topic about how interesting apocrypha was last night lol. The creepy seekers definately add to the atmosphere.
Although not overly threatening, they make for some of the more fun things to fight as a archer on master difficulty. Playing dodge the spell blasts while slowly wearing them down and not being able to stun lock.

Neither Seekers nor Lurkers really wig me out. But their little decoy clone thing has disoriented me before. Sometimes I lose track of the "real" one and on my weaker characters, I spend all this time and resources killing only to see it fade into ash, making me think "OH DAMNIT."

Unfortunately, their spells seem to deal Poison damage, which is why Vampire players are practically immune to their damage (100% Poison Resist, but capped at 85%).

The creepiest thing to me is definitely the HM eyes poking out of the murky tentacle infested water. Especially when they're looking at you...

What Tentacles? I see a fine looking Deadric Prince.

Tentacles?

I shot at one of those with a bow, it blinked a few times, and then proceeded to sink into the mire. I wonder if that's actually something that the eye can respond to or was just a coincidence.

Just a coincidence. It sinks and rises regularly. Hitting it doesn't do anything.

Now that you mention that, it does make sense. The dadra don't have the power to create life, but they do have the power to change or alter it.
