Raven Rock Deployment

Delving Mallory just sent me to raven rock on a fishing job. This is a 1st International TG deployment for me! Pretty excited about the manner in which Skyrim is evolving!

I wasn't aware that this could happen. Awesome!

Bethesda seems to favor the Thieve's Guild when it comes to dlc expansion. I don't think any other guild has gotten attention at all whereas the TG has gotten its own minor questline and some radients.

Well TG in a sense makes more... well sense.

TG can and is spread everywhere, Companions mostly stay in Skyrim ( and realistically mostly in whiterun if they don't have multiple hq's), Dark brotherhood stay as far away from morrowind and Solsthiem as they can ( especially in their weakened state), The college probably might eventually make their way out there to study the changing environment + ash spawn NOW that the place is going to most likely feature more travel due to the mines reopening. The Dawnguard have no business as the ash wastes arent particularity the best places for vampires.

This is true. The Companions especially have no business in Soltheim. But the faction content doesn't necessarily have to take place in Solstheim. They could be expanded a bit in Skyrim.

But not in this DLC.

Nope. I honestly wouldn't expect that of Beth anyway. What we got was great, but wasn't necessary. It was more like a nice bonus. If Bethesda ever expands on the guilds in a dlc, I'd imagine it would be in one that is more directly related to Skyrim.

if anyone cares...
my character became a vampire lord and started the vampire side quests before meeting the gray beards (i believe this is what triggers miraak's cultists coming after you). one of the vampire side quest sent me to raven rock on solsthiem to murder a public figure and blame it on the dawnguard. there was no quest marker on the map. no marker on the windhelm docks. no marker east where the little solsthiem arrow shows up after 1st visiting raven rock. had i not been to raven rock on a different character, i would have been thoroughly confused and at a loss to where raven rock was on the map. my point you ask? it's not just the thieves guild that sends you to solsthiem. :)

I also got a thieves guild quest in Raven Rock but from what I have read online, there's alot of problems with doing them, in that the journal does not update even if you have fulfilled the quest. It seems the game is able to send you on quests to Raven Rock but not able to properly interact between the game and the DLC and so you are not able to finish the quests :(

I'll definitely keep that in mind, although I was able to complete the fishing job Delvin sent me on. The quests and quest markers updated as they should. I certainly hope the bugs aren't similar to the arcwind point wordwall that will never update.

It's cool, isn't it?

I've had the Vampires send me over to Solstheim to solve various radiant quests a couple of times now. I love the way they integrated the new stuff into the older DLC's as well. :D
