Ebony Warrior nowhere to be found?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 10:08 am

Well I spent the last week maxing out all my skills, hit level 81, and can't find this damn ebony warrior. I stumbled across the Last Vigil but all that was there was a frost troll. I've walked miles upon miles of Skyrim and Solthsteim, every hold in Skyrim and the major places on Solthsteim.. he is nowhere! Is there a certain way to get him to find me?

I should also add I've beat the main quest line for Dragonborn, Skyrim mainland, and literally every other quest I can find

He will visit you when you are in a city. Just keep visiting different cities and he will appear.

Try waiting a couple of days and then travel to some major holds again and see if he appears.

When I found him he was in Whiterun, so try there.

I wouldn't let it get to you. It took me two RL weeks for him to spawn. It has only happened once to me, so it may just be some intense bad luck.

Travel between the main holds. I have several capped characters, I've met him in Falkreath, Riften, Windhelm, Dawnstar, Solitude, and Whiterun so far. So I believe it is a safe bet that he can approach you from any of the 9 holds.

I keep hearing about this Ebony Warrior, and I haven't heard anything about him.... What starts the quest? Does he just come looking for you or something?

From what I have gathered, you have to be level 81 and in a city saw him show up in whiterun on a let's play and someone else in this thread mentioned whiterun as well. I would also suggest fast traveling if you are not, to get him to spawn.

I just turned level 80 and waited in Solitude when I found him by the Hall of the Dead. He didn't directly seek me out when I was in the city, only when I got near him did that smug bastard calmly walk over to me and initiate conversation. After I've challenged him and come out 0-2, I'm starting to rethink my strategy of defeating him....

This is pretty much how I found him. I had to find him in Solitude, then his little speech about there being no challenges left... except for me (made my character feel like a hard-ass :D).

Went to his Last Respite (or whatever it's called) and smacked him good. He told me to hit him harder and then proceeded to Shout me into the mountain behind me. I got up and gave him a Marked for Death.

Then "Eye of the Tiger" started playing in the background...

We traded hits a couple of times, then I slashed my dagger across his stomach and hit his knees. After making an impromptu "X" on his shoulders, I sent his head rolling down the mountain.

Total fight time: 24 seconds.

Nocturne wins.

My last two deaths from him came from being shouted down the mountainside rather forcefully. Note to others fighting him, stay uphill
