ADS on consoles

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:50 am

So I am playing on the Xbox 360 version, loving the game btw, besides the technical issues, and one issue with with the controls. I have been a huge fan of being able to ADS since the original CoD, and because or it I almost never hip-fire. Now this would be normal for PC versions of any FPS, but in the Xbox 360 version of Brink, ADS does NOT decrease the stick sensitivity.

Now I'm sure there are people that appreciate this choice, but I've always felt slightly crippled when using a controller compared to a mouse and keyboard. I think there should at least be an option for this, because decreasing sensitivity in ADS helps me and a lot of other console gamers aim more precisely. Is this bugging anyone else?

Finally, someone else who feels my pain. I am such a stickler for sensitivity and I have not been able to tweak it to the point where it just works for me. So far I feel like the sensitivity is just too clunky (and the fact that the aim assist has its own sensitivity certainly doesn't help).

Yes the ADS is very tough to use in this game, very hard to track movement since the sight jumps by inches with the slightest touch. I don't remember the last time I hip fired this much in a game.... though hipfire was pretty accurate I must say.

Agree for the OPTION, but for a total overhaul I certainly wouldn't. Especially if you're implying that you want to ADS to be as sensitive as CoD.

The absolute WORST thing I hate about CoD games isn't the no-skill kills, the overpowered perks or weapons or the [censored] players... it's the fact that sensitivity goes from whirling around like a helicopter in hipfire, to like dragging the barrel through a bog in ADS. It's way too disorientating... give me BF:BC/MAG/etc. sensitivity over CoD any day.

To be honest, I just get used to strafing left/right whilst in ADS to make the final minute adjustments, since it's a lot easier to control small increments that way. Yet to try Brink though.

I like the idea of having an "ADS sensitivity" option - starts with a full bar at 100% normal aim speed, and can be decreased.

I would keep the ADS turning speed the same as normal, personally, but I can appreciate others wanting something else.

If they can only tweak ADS sensitivity globally, and aren't able to give players the option to adjust it, I'd prefer it stays the way it is now, because consistency is important - and if you get better at aiming with the controller, you won't need the sensitivity drop.
