A couple ideas and feedback for the developers

Alright, here are just a couple things I would personally like to say about the game. These are my opinions and feel free to criticize.

Brink is a great game overall. Regarding the campaign (solo wise), the bots do a good job of delivering a cooperative atmosphere, and the opposition only reinforces that to give it a more realistic feel to it, almost as if you are playing against an actual player. They make great use of cover and exhibit a typical player's "hit-and-run" play style, even occasionally making you forget you're playing against an A.I. However, the missions do begin to get repetitive, and the the amount of missions per faction seems a bit short. Also, with the focus mainly on multiplayer combat, it makes it hard to connect to the story, as bots not only cycle between playthroughs, they also aren't very appealing and seem to exhibit almost no personality of their own.

Regarding multiplayer, the best experience is inevitably the versus mode... assuming you can get past all the lag. That aside, the experience is best defined as "sensational" and adds a new experience to the standard FPS. True, the game plays out as a standard FPS title, giving players the option to play it any number of ways, but players that utilize the dynamic S.M.A.R.T. system will indeed have an edge on the competition. The game rewards players with experience, which is earned in-game to unlock customization options for you character. This can be accomplished a number of ways, so those that love to "kill everything" can continue their normal routine without paying any attention to other obstacles, but the real payout is by completing objectives and doing cooperative actions (i.e. healing an incapacitated teammate). Brink does do a great job of this, and the formula is best left not touched.

The final (and most critical) point I have with Brink is, hands down, the customization. Brink allows you near-endless customization of your character, from clothing, to abilities, to weapons. The developers did an excellent job of allowing the player to create an identity that can truly show their personal preference, delivering a more personal feel to it. However, it feels as if further customization could have been available or included. For example, take a standard mask. The more "creative" gamer might like to have their mask behind their head or on top of their head, maybe even hanging down their neck like a scarf or bandana. With its "near-endless" customization, one would think it was nearly endless. Few apparel seem to be missing such as hats, wristbands, and backpacks, only adding to the lack of customization. At first glance, the game gives the impression that customization is near-endless, but the selection is all too limited. Shoes and gloves aren't customizable, and again, not being able to decide if your shoes' tongues are tucked in or out leaves the player feeling almost powerless against this. For all the hype that was built around customization, the developers fell short of their delivery. However, the overall image is concrete and established, regardless of the few problems.

Brink is an outstanding game, and sets itself apart from the standard FPS. Hopefully the developers take a few hints out of this article to polish the multiplayer. Hopefully some of these improvements will be seen in later patches, DLC, or even a sequel. Thank you for listening.
