I have two questions.
1. how long until the patch for the ps3 to come out.
2. How is it some people have no problems while playing and others cant even get out of the first town? Wouldnt everyone experiance the freezes?

1. No-one knows
2. I think it's people having the older PS3 vs. those having the more tricked out models like the Slim. Just a theory though.

Earlier this year Resonance of Fate was released for the PS3, I remember that a lot of people with the old fat PS3 experienced freezes and stuff, while those with the newer slim model had no problems with the game at all. Might be the same here.

Man, if this is the case for FNV, gamesas needs to give everyone with a fat PS3 a slim PS3. Testing a game only on a slim PS3 is totally unacceptable.

Why is that? No-one sell or even make the old PS3 model any-more. It's like saying that Gameboy Advanced cartridges should be playable in the standard Gameboy. (I don't recall many being able to)

D-11 and Freddo that is a great theory but I am srry to inform you that you are mistaken.I have the 2009 released PS3 250GB SLIM and I am having Freezing issues,Hitching issues/Map Rendering- Hitching issues(Where you can see the actual graphics taking like 3 seconds to load in the background).Which in my own PERSONAL THEORY has something to do with the "LACK" of system requirements that it takes to run Fallout:New Vegas.Which I am terrible sorry if I may have offended my dear PS3 [censored] but I have to give the edge 2 the xbox only because it has more RAM than the PS3 but this is a very sensible arguement and I don't in any way.Want to start a really devoted fan war in here.I am just saying. That is my own personal theory. Why I think the PS3 is struggling so hard to run it but I have heard that even the PC people are having problems so that shoves my theory out the window. You have to admit though it would have been nice if they could have put a NVIDIA/SONY made 9800gt in there instead of a NVIDIA/SONY made 7800gt.:)Oh and Please I am not talking about games that use PS3 to it's full potential.Which as you can see Fallout:New Vegas doesn't take advantage of that.Which I can guarantee if SONY made a deal with BETHESDA they would have redesigned it so that it takes full advantage of the PS3 and it would be an overall better game and would boost SONYS game sales.Which I continue to see a drop in.I thought they said they were going to start making games with PS3 1 PPE & 7 SPE's cell broadband engine. What happened to that SONY???

Your theory's incorrect. I have a Slim running the latest firmware and it freezes fairly reliably. Strangely enough, I find that not running in straight lines, not running on railway tracks, and making sure to stop and let my companions catch up is a good way to keep it from freezing. I had this wacky idea that it was the motion planning routines for NPCs having to constantly re-plot a path to my current position while I was running that was causing the issue. Mind you, this could just be a high-tech rain dance and I'm just getting lucky. It still freezes every hour or so, but for a while (on my first approach to the Strip) I couldn't walk for a minute without it locking solidly.

If it had been the case, I wouldn't have put the blame on gamesas, but on Sony. One of the big advantages of a console is that it is consistent and always stay the same, if it works on one machine it should work on them all. Yet Sony did change things between the models that somehow affected the stability of Resonance of Fate.

But seeing this theory already been proven incorrect, the point is moot :P

courier165 you don't want to start a war but you finishing with what you did, i think you were looking for some type of verbal confrontation, but you won't get one with me.ill say this and leave it at that.

i for one have both the 360 and the ps3 and i consider them to be totally equal in graphics and performance, i get more freezes and shut downs with my 360 elite than i do my ps3 so any argument anyone has on any system goes out the window (everyone has different experiences and they're entitled to their own opinion) i also don't think you know what it takes to run a company that is in heated competition with Microsoft and Nintendo...so don't question what they plan to do with their broadband engine

i also have the 250gb slim ps3 and new vegas runs absolutely fine, its just the minor bugs like a female voice for my male character and the red and white exclamation for the modded weathered 10mm

Two years after the release of FO3 and they still have not fixed these bugs. Shouldn't there be extensive testing before the game is shipped. I pre-ordered my copy and it will arrive in my country(Trinidad) tomorrow, yet while i should be feeling excitement, I'm just worried about the game glitching. It is because the actual developer kit these game companies get just run better than the actual consoles, or by magic the game never crashed on them during development?

No more preorders for bethseda.

WTF are you talking about??I said that I have both console's and I never said that I liked 1 system VIA the other better.I just said that I give the xbox the edge in terms of graphics on this (particular game).I also said if you were listening. That if SONY would only start making more games that take full advantage of their Cell Broadband Engine then they would have a huge increase in GAME SALES.That is my own personal opinion on what I think could BOOST SONY'S GAME SALE'S.I assure you that all my replys relate to this forum.Don't Test Me!!!

Stop with the hostile bickering :nono:

But interestingly enough, this hardware issues forum have less posts than the 360 section, and lot less posts than the PC section. Does this mean that there are relatively few people who play the game on the PS3, or that the PS3 version is the one with the least bugs?

None of the mods are hired of paid to work here. NONE. They get some special stuff at game releases but that's it. Their regular members that are asked and if they accept devote some free time to keeping this place neat, tidy, moist, archived, stamped, filed, indexed, numbered and in working order.

(Spot my reference if you can ;))
