Having problems? We'll heres some solutions from a very seasoned gamer and console debugger. (Xbox 360 Tips and Tricks) NO PROBLEMS FOR MY GAME YET, so you might want to listen


1- Clear you Cache/or Dont- Clearing the Memory Cache on the console can solve many problems for the 360 version. However, you must remember this may cause problems for other games. It can corrupt save files if all updates and DLC for that game save are not loaded. Try to remember what you had loaded for the other games, and all updates must be installed for said game. Clearing the cache is not recamendded for a someone that does not have access to Xbox live. If you dont have access to live, clearing your cache could corrupt all save game data on you harddrive since you cant reinstall all previous updates.

2- Install your game- This is for all games and not just New Vegas. Always install your game to the harddrive of your Xbox system. It helps keep the system running smoother, quieter, and cooler. It also helps the Xbox drive recover any drops in the framerate of the game, drastically reducing chances of the game freezing.

3- Save, Save, Save- If you dont want to lose hours of gametime, have atleast 5 manual saves. Save the game on a different slot everytime. Also consider having more than 1 primary save, and DO NOT trust your game to the Autosave mechanic...EVER. This is a GameBryo engine game, and it is full of bugs.

4 - Dont download the pre order bonuses- Pre Order bonuses are notorious for being buggy and unfinished. They can also cause game ending crashes. Wait until there are patches for the game before downloading ANY DLC. Even then, have a backup file that doesnt use the DLC in case problems still exist.

5 - BUY A FREAKING MEMORY CARD!!! - This is the perfect way to backup save game files. You may also try leaving the memory card in the memory card slot with your Gamertag transferred to the memory card. This will save your game data and gamertag in case of a hard drive failer. Memory card failure is less that .01% likely due to the compressed nature of the medium.

6 - DO NOT delete game saves if you dont have to - Only do this as a last resort

7 - Mix and match any/all of these tips to help prevent problems. I trust that as gamers you can do this correctly and intelligently

8 - Offline Consoles Have less problems - Because your memory cache can be compromised by a game that is not the one you are playing. Any updates to the system can be unstable and cause unforseen problems many months into the future. Updates released on discs are safer since they have to go through their very own bug testing. Online updates with problems may not be caught in time, and depending upon your frequency of connecting to Xbox live, may not be fixed by the time you play a game it will harm.

9 - Reload if your framerate drops drastically - if you end up with "Seconds Per Frame" instead of Frames Per Second, pause the game and load the most previous save. Hopefully you remembered to save often. (at least every 10-15 minutes). Remember, only do this if it bogs down really slow. This tip is a little more trial and error, but you will learn the signs of an incoming freeze.

10 - Be careful about taking the Wild Wasteland Perk, AND other Perks - Perks change the game, thats their intention. With a game this big, there will be problems every so often from taking perks. Stop and think "Do I really trust this perk" if it is an action perk such as bloody mess. (Fallout 3's bloody mess bugged and exploded everyone in a settlement after loading, so be a smarter gamer)

11- Dont download the Pre Order Bonuses until there is a patch - They are mostly glitch ridden and not compatable with the games.

I had no glitches with the tribal pack, but then again I just sold it all to the general store, lol. I hate melee.

I am a pretty experienced gamer myself, but I am confused about tip number 8. So when a patch comes out for Fallout: New Vegas, you are saying don't download the patch? Wait for the DLC or game of the year edition patch's that come on the disk?

It's pretty nice of you to compile this list but the fact remains that you should never have had too. Nothing should be released this broken.

Tip #12 don't play this game at all.

dont worry about it. It will do nothing at all for you. It will only make things worse for other Xbox games you play that ever had updates installed.

I agree with R6ferret, not only because i can no longer play the game.

But i think it's boring having to wait for a good game to be patched. This is the worst for bugs as for as games go for me.
I have had problems with a few games on launch but none that would make the game not playable.
Now some people would tell me to start a new game and save save save!
But! I saved a ton and all of them don't load plus whats the point of starting a new game if i am just going to get my game to do the same glitch over and over and waste 12 more hours of time on the damn game.!

Look, let me get something straight, I don't give a rats ass if it helps or not. If it didn't help you, thats fine, but it might help me. So if you're going to be an [censored], be it elsewhere, I'm looking to be productive. Clearing cache has helped me before.

Do you even understand what clearing the Cache does? It deletes game updates that have been patched by xbox live, and well.. this game has not even had a single patch yet.

But yes Clearing the Cache is for updates to reinstall them. Having no updates does no good .
You spend 60$ for a game that should work and not be broken. No wonder the reviews for this game took forever to come out. They probly had the same bugs and had to keep redoing the game till they just wrote the damn review lol haha.

Again, you are not being productive. At least the OP had the courtesy to give us some tips as to avoid bugs. Unlike either one of you.

The more post we have the higher chance they will see us complaining so yes we will get noticed.
If we don't complain or tell what happend they will not fix it. They have our 60$ already. So I hope they make use of it and create a patch soon. Like tomorrow soon ?
