With the recent release of Quake Arena Arcade on Xbox LIVE, we decided to open up an official QUAKE board here.

• QUAKE Series Discussion (where you're currently at) can be used to discuss previous games (QUAKE I - IV and expansions), or even speculate about future projects.

Bethesda doesn't have the Quake IP itself, but ever since id software was acquired by Zenimax, Bethesda has been the publisher of all id's games. We've had RAGE and Doom sections for a while now, but until recently there weren't any Quake titles Bethesda had published so there wasn't a pressing need for a Quake section as well.

What did Bethesda publish Quake on? More XBLA or whatever it was for DOOM?

Actually that's apparently the icon used in the original Quake game, I thought it was a thong at first as well.

Too bad I missed out on the Quake Collection on sale at Steam recently. So is this the official Quake forum as of now?

Something tells me Square Enix isn't in Zenimax's cross-hairs just yet

If I were gamesas/Zenimax and I were looking to revive a forgotten and thrilling series I would just buyout the rights to make the product and immediately hire any and all available voice actors from the series, with the exception of Tony Jay (RIP).

Quake 2 CTF was my all-time favorite shooter/game. I must have played many Thousands of hours on-line as Lloth of Clan Earthquake back when EQ was winning national championships (I wasn't on that team of course). I have never had more fun in on-line combat, and will never forget the levels.

The first online multiplayer game that I recall playing was Quake. As I remember, I was playing deathmatches with a bunch of guys from various countries; I began playing at 6, and quit playing at 8, and I thought, "That was really cool".

*Then I realized... I had started playing at six in the evening, and it had become eight in the morning. :shocking:
(I had played the entire night, so engrossed with it, that I had thought it had only been two hours ~time flies when you are having fun)

Have you tried Quake Live yet?

Not yet.
Quake 2 caused 'sim sickness' for me, Quake 3 (great engine) just didn't hold my interest, Quake 4... Same; (Not so with Prey... That one I liked a lot!).

I'd not heard of Quake Live until you mentioned it. It sounds great that its a free browser game. I haven't played it yet but reading this [below] sapped most of the interest in it from me. :shrug:



It seems that over the years ~after Quake 1, that I've liked games made on the Quake engines, but never the Quake games themselves. :confused:
I still have Quake 1 installed and like to play it.
