PC modding

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:18 am

Ive been looking forward to this game since i saw it at eurogamer expo at Earls Court last year.
Have always thought of getting it on PS3 but after seeing the vids posted today about the crucibal and editor im wondering how much modding support there will be for PC.
Im fine with drop in rooms/arenas and the settings from in game as seen in the vids but will the PC support rooms/arena creation? either officially or not locked down in such a way that we could do it with 3rd party tools?

Would be nice to know so i know which way to pre-order my copy. :D

Looking awesome BTW.

The editor is available on all three platforms - it's possible that third party applications might be made to supplement PC modding but I don't believe anything has been said to suggest this as a possibility in either direction.

However I haven't seen the videos you're talking about, I'll have to check them out tonight.

Editor looks good. Now, I wonder if those retailer exclusive "preorders" are unique or can eventually be unlocked by anyone who has a copy of the game

this is not the kind of editor i was hoping for since it's just a shallow arenas chained together, but a shallow editor is better than no editor at all so still YEAY :P
it all comes down to how fun the combat mechanics are. if i coud have had such an arena mode in AC:B i'd have a blast since the combat mechanics in ACB are fun. im not sold on the mechanics of Hunted but we'll see.
right now what drove me away from this game is the lack of split-screen on the pc so i dont know if i can get over than one.... :)

Crucible, which is a lot of fun, is the main modding component -- beyond that, there's no announced plans for modding tools.

Any chance you know or could inquire whether the arena/room/map files are proprietary/encoded or standard UE3 Gstaff?.
